the cold damp air of the fall saturated her lungs and throat as the blonde sauntered out into the courtyard, led by a large cat on a short leather lead. the two were perfect together, two peas in a pod. the cat was as wild as he appear; though the girl appear to be smooth and well dresses, ever the aristocrat, at the core she was just as wild. they fit, and that was why her father aided in aquiring the pet, the wild thing. they were both beautiful and untameable, but the school didn't tolerate Mareot, the cat, to be free within the building anymore. something about him almost eating too many familiars of the other students, luckily they never heard of all the ones he actually devoured. poor things....not really. survival of the fittest and all that jazz you know. they were so alike. with a small laugh violet reached down and ruffled the soft fur on his head and big ears, before crawling her hand down his neck to unhook the lead from harness. with a cheerful purrump mareot was off bounding around the courtyard like a teenager, hunting.
watching the youthful spring of one of her only friends violet glided to a seat on one of the benches. the sun was setting and the air was still, the rest of the students would be in the grand hall, but when that room was cramped and filled to the brim with people it made her anxious and restless. so she snuck away like the snake she was. vi never cared that she would might get into trouble for missing the opening ceremony, it wasn't in her nature to care for any of that at all. what would they do? give her detention? ha! violet chuckled again as her eagle eyes fallowed the feline as he cornered a mouse. fear, that was what that mouse was feeling, and violet refused to admit that deep deep deep down her anxiousness and restlessness was fear as well. a smirk crossed her lips as the beautiful creature that was hers snatched up the tiny thing and threw it in the air, simply playing with it. to everyone else that was what she was, a cat ever on the hunt. if they knew otherwise she would be normal, weak, useless. so violet kept her inpenitrable walls up.
crossing her legs the folds of her slytherin robe fell open to reveal her long lithe creamy thighs peaking from beneath her short black skirt. leaning back, she rested her forearms on the back of the bench. letting her head fall back, strands of white gold rained down through the air as her soft hair fell free in waves. breathing deep and slow, her eyes gazed out at the way she came. elliot had to have noticed her gone by now, for godsakes they sat next to eachother in that beginning of the ceremony. if he had fallowed he would be here shortly, if not she would find him or someone else later. flexing her right wrist she stretched the scarred burn that felt so tight this evening. taking another deep breathe she fought back every memory that hid within the cramped darkness. this was tradition. elliot would be here, he had to be.

Elliot Nott sat still, gazing around the great hall. Students second year and up had started to enter the hall. He wondered why everyone was arriving early when the opening ceremony wouldn't start in an hour or so. He had pulled Violet with him to get a good seat at the Slytherin table, not that they couldn't just make others move. They did have to answer to him and it made him feel influential. He chuckled lightly, looking down on the head boy badge pinned on his robe. He was going to enjoy this year. He placed his arms on the table, his fingers lightly tapping the surface. He listened in to the conversation going on beside him. Quidditch, the house cup and women were the main topics and he couldn't help but roll his eyes at them. Didn't they have anything else to talk about?
It was as if he was being tugged sideways by an invisible force, he turned to Violet, only to find the seat empty. She had snuck out, again. That wasn't surprising. He glanced at the direction of the entrance hall, just in time to see Violet leaving. He stood up and tapped the guy beside him. "If any of the professors ask for me, tell them I have something important to attend to." He said. It wasn't a lie. Anything that involved Violet is important to him. He walked away without waiting for a reply and headed out the great hall. A lot of people would certainly notice if he doesn't attend the ceremony. He was the head boy, and they usually introduce them before the feast starts. Hopefully, he could sneak back in before the professors notice his absence. If not, well, he would have to deal with it later.
He found her in the courtyard, sitting on one of the benches. He felt a sense of relief that she wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. "Out for some fresh air?" He said, his voice loud enough so she can hear as he made his way towards her. He stopped an arm's reach away from her, head tilted slightly as he eyed her, enjoying the view. Movement caught his eye as he glanced at the cat playing with a mouse in a corner. Didn't they say she can't let that cat off the leash? He didn't mind though, just as long as it didn't kill his owl. He shook his head and took a seat next to her. His legs stretched out in front of him. He stared straight ahead. The setting sun was visible from the side of the castle and it looked absolutely beautiful. Just like the paintings at home or museums he had visited.
note: late, sorry. >_<;
