Actually, the young professor liked to think that he had done a pretty good job at his first week of teaching. It hadn’t taken long for his initial nerves to fade, and once that had happened, things hadn’t been that bad at all. He had tried to be a fun professor, but he had to be careful that he didn’t let his students think they could walk all over him. He had tried to not lecture on and on about boring things, and had tried to pick some fun spells for his first week. For the most part, it had seemed to go pretty well. In his opinion, it seemed that his students had liked him pretty well. Well, the female students had at least. Honestly, the way they watched and listened to him, it sounded like the stories his godfather had told him of when Gilderoy Lockhart had taught at Hogwarts. He wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Granted, the attention was kind of nice but…well, most of his students were a little too young for his liking. Not that he would ever think of doing something like that! His job had been nice so far and he didn’t plan on losing it anytime soon. Overall, the only bad thing about the week was having Victorie around. It really frustrated him that every time he saw her he felt kind of sad…not to mention, being around her was just awkward. There were so many things left unsaid and even though he had thought he was over it for the most part, it was all so confusing. Needless to say, Teddy had done his best to avoid her as much as possible. He had enough to deal with without having to worry about her. Maybe they would end up being able to talk again and work things out but for now…he just didn’t know and he would much rather just not worry about it. It was too stressful to think about. Speaking of stress, he had never realized how hard grading assignments could be. He had assigned his class of 6th years an essay on the pros and cons of cheering charms and, after about ten essays, they were starting to get slightly boring to read. Some of them were just total rubbish, showing that the students had just made things up off the top of their head. Others seemed to be right out of the books, rambling on and on with things he could just read in one of the spell books. There were a few genuinely good ones, but for the most part…it was pretty boring. As he sat there in his office, which was within his classroom, he found himself constantly glancing out the window. He’d never been so excited for dinner to come in his life. This whole teaching thing really wasn’t near as easy as he had originally thought it would be. tag || Addison Wood || words || 513 || outfit || |
