One year ago, Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort in the battle of the century. As hope was dwindling, he prevailed; and he put an end to the reign of terror that Voldemort had created. In the battles wake however, everything was destroyed. Families torn apart, and the entire Wizarding World was left in shambles.
Fast-forward a year later, and the Wizarding World is trying it's best to clean up. The school has been rebuilt, along with all the popular Wizarding areas such as Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. However, a horrifying conclusion has been found amongst the Ministry and they find it within themselves to step in and take charge, or risk their entire race dying out. It has been found that even with the Death of Voldemort, purebloods are still set in their ways to marry only the purest of Witches and Wizards, leading to more and more squib births as alot of them were killed during the battle. Magical blood is dying out, so the Ministry is imposing a Marriage Law.

The Ministry has henceforth enacted a Marriage law in the hopes to produce more Magical children and less squibs. This stems from the war as our population has fallen to a frightening number.
It is henceforth enacted that every witch and wizard, once turning seventeen, must register with the Ministry who will then pair them with a spouse who has been determined through blood and other measures.
Any and all acts of rebellion against this law will result in the snapping of your wand, or a stint in Azkaban prison, depending on the severity.
There are rebels, but that is rare, as each Witch and Wizard cringe at the thought of losing their magic. The law goes on to say that a child must be produced within the first year of Marriage, it is the up to the couple of they wish to have more.
The Marriages are bound by unbreakable vows. To the Ministry, this is the right thing. To others, not so much. But there is little hope in a world where it's either obey the law, or lose your birthright. As the Ministry continues to "help" their world, there are Death Eaters in the background trying to rebuild their own world. Their desires are left unfulfilled, and they fully intend on finishing what their Dark Lord started.
Where will you be when the new law takes effect, and what side will you fight on when the Death Eaters re-emerge? Nothing is written in stone, and our futures are ours to mold.
